An excerpt from Neil P Brady 's Story:
It was one year before this that my stepdaughter wanted to learn to snowboard. I took her up and we stayed at my time-share overnight in Breckenridge where we spent the weekend just the two of us. I had one of the best times of my life with her, that weekend, just two of us. I never seemed to have a good relationship with her as there was always interference from her mom. I was making an attempt to bond with a young woman that was going her own way. I don’t know at that time or now what her 15-year-old opinion of the trip was/is. But I will say I had a wonderful time watching her grow and getting the hang of something so foreign to her. We had a chance to talk and for the first time I think she realized I was listening, that I cared. But at 15 those thoughts are in the moment then they are gone.

She did well on the snowboard that weekend and by the end of the weekend she was a real beginner. But that was to be the end of that. I will say I admire her attempt! It was something that I could share with her, that she and I had for at least a moment in time that held between us a common interest.
