Michael Ross Vance 's StoryBirth Year: 1977Table of ContentsMICHAEL ROSS VANCE I was born in Wheatridge, CO at the Exempla hospital on 32nd Ave just west of Wadsworth Blvd in June of 77. At this time I’m not working but trying to make it on my own. My dad his name is Dean is living up in Platteville. My mother is in Wheatridge, Colorado. They got divorced two years ago. So far my mother has kept the name Vance. I am not staying with either of them even though I was kicked out of my last apartment for lack of money. I just could not pay the rent. I had a job until a few weeks ago. I was working at Wendy’s and they cut my hours down to 3 a day. I could not make enough to live on at those hours so I decided to quit. I irony is that since I quit no one will hire me. So now I stay with a few different friends a few nights a week. I crash at their place and other nights I just sleep out. I have a blanket and I have my bicycle. So I hang around between 80th and Wadsworth and 52 and Wadsworth most days. Today I am just hanging out here at McDonalds. You can meet all kinds of different people out here. I am not talking about the people on the street but the people who look at you like you should not exist. I have an older brother his name is Bud. He is six years older than me. He joined the navy when I was 11. I myself never went into the service. I never even gave it a thought. So we didn’t grow up as brothers might who are closer in age. I was a bowler as a child. It was just something I wanted to do. I don’t remember who got me started as a boy. I was about 9 when I began. I bowled for about 8 years in a league. I stopped about the time I was 18. I was not great but held a 170 average. Not too bad considering. I went to college for a little bit. The school was called Red Rocks Community College here in Arvada. I took a couple of classes. The classes I took were accounting and small business management. I went because I wanted to learn some stuff. I did not get a degree or anything. |
