Second Team, Howard Orr - End, Jimmy Hyde - Guard, and Ray Holiday - Half back. Marvin graduated he had a scholarship to go to college, but after a physical they told him they just could not allow him to play football. He was at the time devastated, but buried his hurt and went to work. After working three years with the Moore Paint Co. he went to work for the Rocky Mountain News in Denver. He remained in their employment until January of 1979, when he retired. Marvin always had a second job or activity going such as coaching, officiating football and basketball games. He worked with the women’s softball, Englewood Booster Club, etc. He still found time to hunt and fish and spend time with his family. He and Hope Geiger were married in June, 1942, and had four children. Their only daughter Gloria died suddenly at the young age of 21. There are now nine grandchildren in the family from their sons. Marvin died January 29, 1980. Hope had since remarried.
