Donald W. Burns 's Story

    Donald W. Burns


    After high school don Spent one year at the ranch in Walden, then joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He saw combat in the South Pacific and went to Nagasaki, Japan, with the first occupation forces. He spent time in Australia, New Zealand and Hawaiian Islands. After coming home he spent another year at the ranch; worked nine years for Continental Oil at Walden; and worked the remainder of the time for Public Service Co. in the electric line department.


    His wife, Joyce was an administrative clerk. They have two children and two grandchildren. They have built a retirement home in Red Feather Lakes and are now living there, going south for the winter.


    Don’s mother is still living and continues to live in her home in Fort Collins. Don enjoys fishing, camping and painting. They spend the winter months at Weslaco, Texas.


    Don died on Oct. 24th 1994.
